It hasn’t been an ideal start to the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season for several contenders, but quite a few of them have no need to panic.

Two races into the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, several drivers find themselves in positions in the point standings where they aren’t used to being.

Unfortunately, some of those drivers find themselves far lower than they are used to. However, not all of these drivers need to panic quite yet.

Here are five playoff drivers from last year who do not need to panic, despite being outside the current 16-driver playoff field.

NASCAR drivers who don’t need to panic: No. 1 – Kyle Larson

Hendrick Motorsports’ Kyle Larson finds himself in a dismal 24th place in the championship standings through two races, and the better of his two finishes is a DNF in the Daytona 500.

But it goes without saying that Larson, who won 10 races two seasons ago en route to his first championship, has no need to panic.

While the Gen 7 car certainly threw a learning curve at the driver who many have long believed can get behind the wheel of anything and win races, he still managed to win three races, tied for third most in the series, and he added nine more top five finishes.

Larson was prevented from competing for any sort of a decent result on Sunday at Auto Club Speedway, the track where he earned his first win last year, thanks to an electrical issue. Don’t think for one second that his rivals aren’t going to count on getting that lucky for the next 24 races in a row.
