NASCAR: 11/18/2019, Joe Gibbs Racing day
By Asher Fair
Every number associated in today’s date lines up with a Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota in the NASCAR Cup Series, noted by a keen fan on NASCAR America a few weeks ago.
A very astute fan named Mark from West Virginia called into NASCAR America a few weeks ago and pointed out to Joe Gibbs Racing’s Kyle Busch that if one of the Joe Gibbs Racing drivers wins the championship, they would have to call the following day “Joe Gibbs Racing Day”.
Why?
Because Denny Hamlin drives the #11 Toyota, Busch drives the #18 Toyota, Erik Jones drives the #20 Toyota and Martin Truex Jr. drives the #19 Toyota.
Today is 11/18/2019.

This also happened last year just one day after the season finale on Monday, November 19, 2018 (11/19/2018). Daniel Suarez was driving the #19 Toyota at the time.
You can look at the car numbers of any other big team in the series. Hendrick Motorsports run the #9, #24, #48 and #88 Chevrolets. Stewart-Haas Racing run the #4, #10, #14 and #41 Fords. Team Penske run the #2, #12 and #22 Fords.
With these car numbers, this phenomenon can’t even happen again with Joe Gibbs Racing, and it technically won’t happen again until Monday, April 14, 4110 (Stewart-Haas Racing — 4/14/4110).
That’s only 763,504 days (109,072 weeks) away, and no one reading this fact will be around to see it happen — not even Stewart-Haas Racing.
You could make an argument for Team Penske on February 12, 2022, but 2/12/22 technically doesn’t include the “20” ahead of the 22 to represent the 21st century.
This Joe Gibbs Racing example is special in that it uses each number from each car.
At the end of the day, this means nothing other than the fact that it’s quite unique and interesting that somebody was keen enough to point it out, so major props to Mark from West Virginia for calling in to make this known.
Even Busch, who did end up winning his second and Joe Gibbs Racing’s fifth championship via their all-time single-season record 19th victory of the 2019 season at Homestead-Miami Speedway yesterday evening, was impressed.
