NOT – Kurt Busch

Kurt Busch has had an off-season that he would like to soon forget. Busch has been in the midst of court proceedings for much of the off-season because of alleged claims of domestic abuse by his ex-girlfriend. The case has dragged on a bit and produced some awkward moments for the former NASCAR champion. Busch has been painted as a man with anger issues who has a drinking problem and is secretly battling depression. In turn, Busch has painted his ex as being a trained assassin, no really, he said that she was actually a trained assassin.

With the Sprint Unlimited this weekend and the Daytona 500 less than two weeks away, it would seem as though Busch’s legal issues will not be wrapped up before he returns to the track.

While racing and dealing with these issues isn’t the end of the world, it’s obviously not an ideal situation. There are plenty of distractions in this sport and adding one more to the pile is not something that Busch or his team needs. Hopefully Busch will not let this be a distraction as he prepares for the start of the 2015 NASCAR season.
