Kyle Busch
Most NASCAR fans know about Kyle Busch’s situation. Since he missed the first part of the season, he has to win a race and be in the top 30 in points to make the Chase. He’s already got the win taken care of since he’s earned victories at Sonoma and Kentucky but it’s the points that is the barrier standing in his way.

Despite both of those wins and a few other quality finishes, he still sits 87 points out of the top-30 which is a major problem. A few of the drivers that have been hovering around the 30th position are David Gilliland, Cole Whitt and Justin Allgaier, who are all good drivers but just aren’t very consistent.
It is very possible Busch could work his way back up into the top-30 but it’s going to take a lot of good finishes and possibly more wins for him to make that happen. There aren’t going to be anymore 1.5 mile tracks until the Chase so the Sprint Cup Series is going to be traveling through various short tracks and many unique tracks like Pocono and Indy.
Busch is one driver who has the capability of going on a run and gaining some major ground on the competition but only time will tell if he is able to do that, and for now, there’s still a lot of work to be done. One thing is certain: The Chase just wouldn’t be the same without Kyle Busch and he might be the best bet on this list to make the chase, but it’s still going to be an up-hill battle.
