Motorsports TV Schedule – September 8 to 11
By Alex Herbst
The motorsports TV schedule is quieter this weekend as NASCAR locks down the final spots in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
Heading into the second weekend of September, the motorsports TV schedule quiets down a bit. But there will still be plenty of eyes on the racing world as the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series decides who make the final cut for the Chase.
More from Beyond the Flag
- NASCAR Cup Series: New team set to compete in 2024
- NASCAR: Will Kevin Harvick’s major record ever be broken?
- NASCAR: Surprising name continuously linked to new seat
- Formula 1: Top Red Bull threat identified for 2024
- NASCAR driver at risk of missing the Daytona 500?
Both the Sprint Cup Series and Xfinity Series will be on track at Richmond International Raceway. The Xfinity race on Friday night will be the penultimate race before their first-ever Chase for the championship. Meanwhile there are just a handful of drivers who can clinch the final spots for the Sprint Cup Series playoff. You can see the Chase-clinching scenarios for all the currently eligible NSCS teams here.
There will be a slim selection from other racing series as motorsports compete against both the NFL and NCAA football. Australian V8 Supercars, British Touring Cars and Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing will all be televised on CBS Sports while the two-wheeled machines will take a bigger share of the spotlight when MotoAmerica races in New Jersey and MotoGP is in Italy.
