Tony Kanaan nearly wins at Texas after going two laps down

Tony Kanaan was arguably the cause of a huge wreck just past the halfway mark of the Rainguard Water Sealers 600 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas that collected eight of the 22 cars entered in the race. As a result of the penalty he incurred from causing that wreck, he went two laps down.

However, IndyCar implemented competition caution throughout the rest of the race, and Kanaan was able to get back on the lead lap and into the top 10 as a result of those cautions. On the final restart of the race, he shot up to 2nd place and likely would have been the driver to beat had it not been for a late four-car wreck that caused the race to end under caution.

Sebastien Bourdais returns to the cockpit

More from IndyCar

After recovering from his nasty wreck in Indianapolis 500 qualifying that left him with a broken hip and pelvis, Sebastien Bourdais returned to the cockpit of an IndyCar at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to test.

He is set to make his return to competition this weekend at the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, Illinois.

Will Power rallies from early issues at Pocono

Early issues in the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania caused Will Power to lose a bunch of positions before he ultimately ended up pitting off strategy and going a lap down due to issues with his car.

However, he was able to get back on the lead lap and alter his pit strategy to the point where he had a huge lead over the entire field at one point…with more fuel than anybody. While that lead shrunk down, he still ended up winning the race by 0.527 seconds over teammate Josef Newgarden.
