NASCAR: 2017 Virginia College Savings 250 Race Results – Keselowski Scorches
By Alex Herbst
Brad Keselowski passed Kyle Busch in the final stage of Friday night’s Xfinity Series race to win in his final start in series for 2017 at Richmond Raceway.
Richmond Raceway may mark the final race of the NASCAR Cup Series regular season, but the Xfinity Series still has two races to decide their twelve-driver playoff field.
While the Cup drivers are back out to play for the race win, the series regulars are racing for the final points to get into the championship hunt.
Brad Keselowski ultimately scorched the field en route to victory lane, but he wasn’t the only celebrating on Friday night. Keselowski, driving the #22 Ford for Team Penske this weekend, took the checkered flag ahead of the winningest driver in the Xfinity Series, Kyle Busch.

It was the seventh time Keselowski has passed one of his chief rivals for the win, this time in each of their final races in the series for 2017. Due to limits on Cup drivers in lower divisions, neither Keselowski nor Busch will race again in Xfinity this year.
The sprint race at Richmond Raceway also saw a few other drivers celebrating at the end of the night. Elliott Sadler earned enough points in the 250-lap event to secure the regular season title for the series, earning a bonus of 15 points in the playoffs.
The battle along the bubble was also of note throughout the night, with Brendan Gaughan expanding his lead from 12th in the playoff grid, ahead of Dakoda Armstrong in 13th.
