Formula One: 2017 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix qualifying results – Valtteri Bottas on pole

Valtteri Bottas will start on pole for the fourth and final time in 20 races in the 2017 Formula One season in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

In the 20th and final race of the 2017 Formula One season, Mercedes AMG Petronas Motorsport’s Valtteri Bottas, 28, will be starting from the pole position for the fourth time of the season and fourth time in his career.

Bottas took the pole for tomorrow’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the 21-turn, 3.451-mile Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. His other three career poles, which have all come this season, came in Bahrain, Austria, and in the most recent Formula One race in Brazil.

Bottas is set to start alongside his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton, who clinched his fourth career Formula One championship two races ago in the Mexican Grand Prix.

Behind the two Mercedes teammates on the starting grid will be Sebastian Vettel, who drives for Scuderia Ferrari, and Daniel Ricciardo, who drives for Red Bull Racing, respectively. Kimi Raikkonen will start directly behind his Ferrari teammate in 5th place, while Max Verstappen will start directly behind his Red Bull teammate in 6th.

Rounding out the top 10 from 7th to 10th place, respectively, are Nico Hulkenberg, who drives for Renault Sport, Sergio Perez and Esteban Ocon, who drive for Sahara Force India, and Felipe Massa, who is set to make his final career Formula One start driving for Williams Martini Racing.
