Lewis Hamilton will enter the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with a chance to make history in a way no Formula One driver has ever made it before.

Lewis Hamilton had a chance to make history in a way which no Formula One driver has ever made it before in the Mexican Grand Prix two weeks ago. However, he failed to do so. He had the same opportunity to do so again in the Brazilian Grand Prix, but he again failed to do so.

Hamilton will have one more chance to do so in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in two weeks. Will he finally be able to do so?

Hamilton won 11 races in the 2014 Formula One season, and he followed it up with a 10-win season in 2015 and another 10-win season in 2015. He currently has nine victories so far this season through 19 races, and there is just one race to go. Will he be able to secure his 10th victory of the season for the fourth straight season?

More from Formula One

Other than Hamilton’s three double-digit win seasons over the past three seasons, there have been four double-digit win seasons by Formula One drivers in the history of the sport. Michael Schumacher won 13 races in the 2004 season and 11 races in the 2002 season, and Sebastian Vettel won 13 races in the 2013 season a,d 11 races in the 2011 season.

So Hamilton already holds the record for most double-digit win seasons in Formula One history with three. But because his double-digit win seasons have been consecutive, he is the only driver in the history of the sport with a streak of double-digit win seasons, as no other driver has ever even been able to pull it off two seasons in a row.

And Hamilton’s streak isn’t at just two straight seasons but three, and he will have the opportunity for the third and final time this season to stretch it to four, which would cause him to further make history in a way that no driver has ever made it before, and it would cause his own record, which already seems untouchable, to expand. Will he pull it off?
