Jordan King is set to make his IndyCar debut in the 2018 season driving the road and street course races for Ed Carpenter Racing.

Ed Carpenter Racing have confirmed that 23-year-old Jordan King will be sharing the duties of driving the #20 Chevrolet with team owner Ed Carpenter in the 2018 IndyCar season. While Carpenter is set to the car in the oval races once again, King is set to do so in the road and street course races.

Spencer Pigot previously shared time in the #20 Chevrolet with Ed Carpenter, with Pigot driving in the road and street course races. However, the team released their lone full-time driver, J.R. Hildebrand, who drove the #21 Chevrolet, and promoted Pigot to be their full-time driver in that car, which left a seat open in the #20 Chevrolet for the road and street course races.

King has never driven in IndyCar before, but it has become his goal to do so ever since he attended the 2016 season finale at Sonoma Raceway. He does have plenty of racing experience, which is needed for any driver when they make the jump to IndyCar.
