After five full-time NASCAR Cup Series seasons, 35-year-old Danica Patrick has officially retired, as she has driven her final race in the sport.

Last November just two days before the 2017 NASCAR Cup Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway in Homestead, Florida, Danica Patrick, 35, announced that she would no longer compete full-time in the sport.

However, Patrick also stated that she planned to drive in one final Cup Series race, with that race being the 2018 Daytona 500, in addition to one final IndyCar race, with that race being the 2018 Indianapolis. She has not driven in the Indianapolis 500 or any IndyCar race since the 2011 season.

Patrick landed a ride for the Daytona 500 a few weeks ago with Premium Motorsports as the driver of the #7 Chevrolet. With that race now in the books and ending in a wreck for her, she has officially retired from her role as a Cup Series driver.

More from Danica Patrick

Over the course of her NASCAR career, which began back in 2010, Patrick drove full-time for six seasons. She drove full-time in the Xfinity Series in the 2012 season for JR Motorsports before landing a full-time ride with Stewart-Haas Racing in the Cup Series in 2013.

Patrick landed her ride with Stewart-Haas Racing in the 2013 Cup Series season after driving part-time for Tommy Baldwin Racing in entries that were fielded by Stewart-Haas Racing in the 2012 Cup Series season while she was also a full-time driver in the Xfinity Series. She stayed with Stewart-Haas Racing as a full-time driver until the 2017 season came to a close.

Patrick’s NASCAR career concludes with her having driven in 61 races in the Xfinity Series and 191 races in the Cup Series. In her 61 career Xfinity Series races, Patrick took one pole at Daytona in 2012, finished in the top 10 seven times and finished in the top 5 once, with that lone top 5 finish being a 4th place effort at Las Vegas in the 2011 season.

In her 191 career Cup Series races, Patrick took one pole at Daytona in 2013 and finished in the top 10 seven times, with her career-high finish being a 6th place effort at Atlanta in the 2014 season.

Danica Patrick has now officially retired from NASCAR, and she has just one more race until she officially retires from her profession as a race car driver. That race, the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500, is set to take place on Sunday, May 27th.
