Denny Hamlin has claimed that his feud with fellow NASCAR Cup Series driver Darrell Wallace Jr. is done. Is he telling the truth?

Following the Daytona 500 last Sunday, a feud between NASCAR Cup Series drivers Denny Hamlin and rookie Darrell Wallace Jr. ensued. This feud has taken the sport by storm this week despite the fact that the 2018 season has just begun and 35 of the 36 scheduled races have not yet been contested.

This feud began as a result of the fact that Hamlin, 37, stated that he believed 70% of the Cup Series drivers use Adderall. So when Wallace Jr., 24, side drafted him at the end of the Daytona 500 and Hamlin shoved him into the wall, Wallace Jr. fired back as Hamlin’s remarks and said that maybe he should use the drug.

Hamlin did not take kindly to these remarks. As a result, the two drivers engaged in an angry confrontation prior to Hamlin going on a Twitter rant about the situation in which he would call out “idiots” on Twitter and call a fan who commented on his tweet a “moron”.

It was revealed yesterday that Hamlin had kicked Wallace Jr. out of his recreational basketball and golf leagues and replaced him, and he did not do so by telling Wallace Jr. directly. In fact, Wallace Jr. claims that the text went through “like five or six people”.

There is still clearly bad blood between the two drivers. But now, according to Hamlin, this feud is over. Here is what he had to say about the matter, according to NBC Sports.

"“Doesn’t concern me. I’ll just keep moving forward and try to do the best I can and let whoever tell their side and let it be. It’s done. It’s done. It’s done.”"

Given the fact that Kevin Harvick also commented on the feud between Hamlin and Wallace Jr. and criticized Hamlin’s role in it, Hamlin also stated that he and Harvick had discussed the matter. Here is what he had to say, according to NBC Sports.

"“I’ve talked to Kevin. We’re good. Yeah. Trust me, it’s all done, guys.”"

But is the feud really over, or is Hamlin just saying it’s over to keep people from talking about it? The evidence would suggest that it’s not over yet given the fact that Wallace Jr. was only just kicked out of Hamlin’s two recreational leagues. However, we should know more depending on what happens in this Sunday’s race in Atlanta.
