NASCAR: Danica Patrick’s father takes a shot at Aaron Rodgers
By Asher Fair
T.J. Patrick, the father of former NASCAR Cup Series driver Danica Patrick, took a shot at his daughter’s boyfriend, NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Former NASCAR Cup Series driver Danica Patrick, 35, broke up with Cup Series driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr., 30, her boyfriend of roughly five years, back in December. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, recently broke up with Olivia Munn, 37, his girlfriend of roughly three years, last year as well.
It was recently confirmed that Patrick is now dating Rodgers after a rumor circulated about the subject. Patrick’s father T.J. took a subtle shot at the NFL quarterback on Facebook several days after the 60th annual Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
This year’s Daytona 500, which was Patrick’s final Cup Series race, was the first and only Cup Series race during which Patrick and Rodgers were in a relationship. It is unknown whether or not he will attend her final professional race, which is set to be the Indianapolis 500, an IndyCar race, in May.
On a photograph of Patrick and Rodgers, who are now vacationing in Mexico, putting their hands over their hearts during the national anthem of the United States of America, The Star-Spangled Banner, prior to the start of the Daytona 500, T.J. Patrick commented.

Here is what he said, according to New York Post.
"“No kneeling in NASCAR!! Hand in heart!!”"
During the national anthem controversy surrounding the NFL this past season right around the time when the 2017 Cup Series playoffs were starting, NASCAR took a stand against the anthem protestors.
Among those who did not take kindly to the NFL players who protested the anthem was T.J. Patrick himself. In fact, certain team owners also said that if any of their employees protested the anthem, they would be kicked off the team.
Rodgers, however, supported these protests and actually encouraged fans to protest themselves in the form of linking arms all throughout Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Rodgers and his teammates also participated in this protest.

Is it just a coincidence that T.J. Patrick made this comment on a post with his daughter and Aaron Rodgers and didn’t know about Rodgers’ support of the NFL national anthem protests, or was he intentionally doing so to take a shot at Rodgers for participating in those protests this past season?
