With two of 36 races in the 2018 season now complete, which NASCAR Cup Series teams rank where in the team power rankings after Atlanta?

Joe Gibbs Racing did not win either of the first two races of the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season. In fact, no Toyota team has won a race yet, as a Chevrolet team, Richard Childress Racing, won the Daytona 500, and a Ford team, Stewart-Haas Racing, won at Atlanta.

However, largely due to the fact that Denny Hamlin opened up the season with back-to-back top 4 finishes, Joe Gibbs Racing are on top of this week’s formulated NASCAR Cup Series Team Power Rankings despite the fact that the team’s younger two drivers, Daniel Suarez and Erik Jones, have struggled thus far.

Furniture Row Racing, the other top-tier Toyota team, moved up several spots in these rankings as well thanks to a bounce-back race for their lone driver, Martin Truex Jr., in Atlanta following a disappointing Daytona 500 race. He started in the back of the pack at Atlanta and finished in 5th place.

Stewart-Haas Racing also made a solid jump in these rankings after Kevin Harvick, who is one of their four drivers, dominated the race at Atlanta to go to Victory Lane. Team Penske and Chip Ganassi Racing also made notable moves up the rankings, while teams such as Richard Childress Racing, Wood Brothers Racing and Richard Petty Motorsports fell down the rankings by a significant amount of positions.

BK Racing, the other full-time Toyota team, are included in these rankings despite not being included in last week’s edition of these rankings because Gray Gaulding was only confirmed as the full-time driver of their #23 Toyota within the last few days.

The way by which these power rankings are calculated has not changed since the first edition was released.

"“These power rankings are based solely on a mathematical formula that is derived from the NASCAR Cup Series Driver Power Rankings mathematical formula. Only full-time teams that consist of a full-time driver or full-time drivers are included in these rankings.”"

Without further ado, here are the formulated NASCAR Cup Series Team Power Rankings after the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
