The second practice session for the opening race of the 2018 IndyCar season at St. Petersburg has come to a close. Who looks good early on?
The second practice session for Sunday’s Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, which is the opening race of the 2018 IndyCar season, has come to an end, thus wrapping up today’s on-track activity.
Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter-Reay topped the speed chart with a top lap time of 60.8295 seconds (106.527 miles per hour) around the 14-turn, 1.8-mile temporary street circuit in his #28 Honda.
The top Chevrolet driver in the session was Team Penske’s Will Power in 3rd place. Once again, Team Penske did not have a session like we have grown accustomed to seeing from them, especially throughout last season. Josef Newgarden finished the session in 5th and Simon Pagenaud finished the session in 13th after spinning out in turn 3.
