The fifth race of the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series season is the IndyCar Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Here is the entry list for the race.

The IndyCar Grand Prix is the fifth of 17 races on the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series schedule, and it is set to take place this Saturday afternoon. The race is set to be held at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course in Speedway, Indiana.

This year’s race on the 13-turn, 2.439-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course is the fifth annual race at the track. Only two different drivers have won this event, but never has the same driver won it two years in a row.

This race is the second consecutive road course race and second overall road course race of the season, as Barber Motorsports Park played host to a race just over two weeks ago. It is the fourth road or street course race of the season, as the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida and Long Beach, California played host to one race each earlier this season.

A total of 24 drivers are entered into the 2018 IndyCar Grand Prix, making this weekend’s field size tied for the largest of the season. A total of 24 drivers also competed in the race on the streets of St. Petersburg to open up the season in addition to the race on the streets of Long Beach. The other two races at Barber Motorsports Park and ISM Raceway featured 23 drivers.

While there are 24 drivers set to compete in this race, one of the drivers, the drive of the #19 Honda for Dale Coyne Racing has still not yet officially been named since Pietro Fittipaldi, who was originally supposed to compete in the race, broke both of his legs in an accident at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in a World Endurance Championship race this past Friday.

Helio Castroneves, a three-time Indianapolis 500 champion, is also set to make his return to IndyCar this weekend as well after sitting out the first four races of the season since he is no longer a full-time driver in the sport and is instead a full-time driver in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
