Will Power qualified on pole for the fifth race of the 2018 IndyCar season, the IndyCar Grand Prix at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Team Penske’s Will Power is set to start the fifth race of the 2018 IndyCar season, the IndyCar Grand Prix, from the pole position after posting a qualifying lap of 69.8182 seconds (125.761 miles per hour) in his #12 Chevrolet in the Firestone Fast Six qualifying round, the third and final qualifying session for the race.
Power is set to start alongside Schmidt Peterson Motorsports rookie Robert Wickens, who was the top Honda qualifier in the session in his #6 Honda. Honda drivers locked out the second row with Dale Coyne Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais in his #18 Honda and Wickens’ teammate James Hinchcliffe in his #5 Honda in third and fourth place, respectively.
Chevrolet drivers locked out the third row with Ed Carpenter Racing rookie Jordan King in his #20 Chevrolet and Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden in his #1 Chevrolet in fifth and sixth place, respectively.
