The next race of the 2018 IndyCar season is the 102nd running of the Indy 500. Here is the full entry list for that race.
The annual 12-month wait for IndyCar‘s biggest race of the year is just under two weeks away from being over. The 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 at the four-turn, 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana is set to take place on Sunday, May 27, and practice and qualifying for the event are set to take place this week.
The entry list for the race features a total of 35 drivers, which is the highest driver total on the entry list for an Indy 500 since 42 drivers attempted to qualify for the race back in 2011, meaning there will be bumping, as only 33 drivers are allowed to drive in the race itself.
There has not been bumping since 34 drivers attempted to qualify for the race back in 2015. Only one driver, Buddy Lazier, was bumped from that race. He will not be attempting to qualify for this year’s running of the Indy 500 for the first time since 2012.

Of the 35 cars entered, 34 have known drivers at this point. Dale Coyne Racing have yet to announce their replacement for the injured Pietro Fittipaldi, who was set to drive the #19 Honda in the race, but it is expected that they will do so within the next day or so since practice for the race officially begins tomorrow.
Of the 35 drivers who are set to attempt to qualify for the 2018 Indy 500, only 20 are full-time drivers. Of the 15 drivers who are set to attempt to qualify for the 2018 Indy 500 who are not full-time drivers, 14 of them are known. Of those 14 drivers, 10 of them are set to compete only in the Indy 500 this season as far as IndyCar races go.
