What lies ahead for Spencer Pigot?

A great start to a career in any sport, including IndyCar, certainly doesn’t guarantee a great career in that sport for any athlete. But given the extraordinary talent that Spencer Pigot showed in the one opportunity he has had so far to show off his talent on superspeedways, he is certainly a driver to keep your eye on in the superspeedway races, especially in the Indy 500.

More from IndyCar

Pigot has not yet done anything to suggest that his qualifying run was a fluke. In fact, he posted the sixth fastest time two days in a row to earn his sixth place starting spot in the Indy 500. Then again, he has only had this one opportunity so far, so the sample size is still very small.

The more opportunities that Pigot gets, the more we will know just how good he is on the superspeedways. He is slated to get several more this season, with the next being the Indy 500 this Sunday. Can he nail it in the race itself like he did in qualifying, and will that translate to even more success moving forward? Don’t bet against it.
