The seventh and eighth races of the 2018 IndyCar season are set to take place this weekend. Here is the full entry list for both of those races.

The Chevrolet Dual in Detroit began back in the 2013 IndyCar season. It is composed of two races on the same 14-turn, 2.35-mile street circuit on Belle Isle in Detroit, Michigan. One of those races takes place on Saturday and the other takes place on Sunday.

The Chevrolet Dual in Detroit was the first two-day doubleheader in IndyCar when it began back in the 2013 season. Regular point amounts are awarded to drivers who compete in each of these two races.

As a result of the fact that regular point amounts are awarded to drivers who compete in each of these two races, the race weekend of the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit is essentially a double points weekend, although it is not a double points weekend in the way that the weekends of the double points races, the Indianapolis 500 and the season finale at Sonoma Raceway, are.

This is the case because drivers are not guaranteed to finish in the same position in both races of the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit, whereas in the Indianapolis 500 and the season finale at Sonoma Raceway, the regular points that drivers would ordinarily be awarded for finishing in a given position are simply doubled.

This year’s Chevrolet Dual in Detroit races are set to take place on Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3. They are both set to be broadcast live on ABC starting at 3:30 p.m. ET on their respective dates.

A total of 23 drivers are entered into this year’s Chevrolet Dual in Detroit, a total that is tied for the lowest so far this season, as a total of 23 drivers drove in the second race of the season at ISM Raceway, and a total of 23 drivers drove in the fourth race of the season at Barber Motorsports Park.
