NASCAR Cup Series: Trevor Bayne confirmed for 11 more races in 2018
By Asher Fair
Trevor Bayne is set to drive for Roush Fenway Racing in 11 of the remaining 21 races of the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season.
Trevor Bayne had driven for Roush Fenway Racing in the #6 Ford full-time since the start of the 2015 NASCAR Cup Series season before the team announced that he would be sharing the driving duties of the car with 2003 Cup Series champion Matt Kenseth throughout the remainder of the 2018 season.
This announcement was made in April after the ninth race of the 36-race 2018 season took place at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Virginia.
Bayne, 27, ended up driving in the first 11 races of the season before Kenseth, who drove for Roush Racing/Roush Fenway Racing in the #17 Ford from his rookie season, the 2000 season, through the 2012 season, made his debut in the #6 Ford in the race at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas.

In 11 starts in the #6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford so far this season, Bayne has finished eight races. He recorded a season-high 12th place finish in the race at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. His average finish through 11 races so far this season is 24.73, and his average finish through the eight races that he has actually finished so far this season is 20.25.
It was just confirmed that Kenseth, who has driven in each of the four Cup Series races that have taken place since Bayne last drove in the Cup Series when he drove in the race Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware at the beginning of May, would be driving in 10 of the remaining 21 races on the 2018 Cup Series schedule.
As a result of the fact that the 10 races in which Kenseth is scheduled to drive the #6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford throughout the remainder of the 2018 Cup Series season have been confirmed, the 11 races in which Bayne is scheduled to drive the #6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford throughout the remainder of the 2018 Cup Series season have also been confirmed.
Bayne is scheduled to drive in the following 11 races throughout the remainder of the 2018 Cup Series season.
