With seven of the 11 road and street course races on the 2018 IndyCar schedule in the books, how do the sport’s 10 full-time teams rank?
Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden won the seventh of 11 road and street course races on the 2018 IndyCar schedule for his second victory and Team Penske’s third victory in a road or street course race so far this season
Newgarden won the Kohler Grand Prix, which was held last Sunday, at the 14-turn, 4.048-mile (6.515-kilometer) Road America road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin in his #1 Chevrolet, but just like when he won at Barber Motorsports Park earlier this season, he was the only Chevrolet driver to finish in the top six.
In all three of the road or street course races in which Team Penske drivers have earned victories so far this season, the Team Penske driver who has won the race has been the only Chevrolet driver to finish that particular race in the top five.

There have been three road course races so far this season, while there have been four street course races. Team Penske drivers have been responsible for winning all three of the road course races. Will Power won at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course in his #12 Chevrolet.
No other Chevrolet teams have won any races so far this season, and Team Penske drivers have not won any of the street course races that have been contested so far in 2018. Four different Honda drivers for three different Honda teams have accounted for the victories in the four street course races that have been contested so far this year.
With three of the remaining four road or street course races on the 2018 schedule being road course races, will Team Penske be able to gain an advantage in the championship through the remaining road and street course portion of the schedule as a whole? If so, will they need to have more than one of their drivers finishing those road course races in the top five to truly establish themselves as the sport’s top road course team?
