Ryan Hunter-Reay topped the speed chart in the second of three practice sessions for the Honda Indy 200, the 13th race of the 2018 IndyCar season.
Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter-Reay topped the speed chart in the second of three practice sessions for the 13th race of the 17-race 2018 IndyCar season, the Honda Indy 200.
Hunter-Reay topped the speed chart in this practice session by recording a top lap time of 65.1950 seconds (124.753 miles per hour) around the 13-turn, 2.258-mile (3.634-kilometer) Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio in his #28 Honda.
Team Penske’s Will Power was the fastest Chevrolet driver in the practice session. He finished in second place in his #12 Chevrolet and was one of the two Chevrolet drivers who finished the session in the top five.

The other Chevrolet driver who finished the practice session in the top five was Ed Carpenter Racing’s Spencer Pigot. He finished in fourth place in his #21 Chevrolet. Honda drivers Graham Rahal and Alexander Rossi occupied the other two positions in the top five. They finished in third and fifth in their #15 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing Honda and #27 Andretti Autosport Honda, respectively.
Honda drivers rounded out the rest of the top eight positions as well, as Andretti Herta Autosport’s Marco Andretti and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon and Ed Jones finished in sixth, seventh and eighth place in their #98 Honda, #9 Honda and #10 Honda, respectively.
Dale Coyne Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais, who topped the speed chart in the first practice session, finished this session in 14th place in his #18 Honda.
The third practice session for the race is scheduled to take place tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. ET, and it is scheduled to be broadcast live on IndyCar RaceControl, the IndyCar app, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
Qualifying for the race is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 1:35 p.m. ET. It is scheduled to be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network starting at 1:30 p.m. ET. The race itself is scheduled to be broadcast live on CNBC starting at 3:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 29, and it is scheduled to begin later that afternoon at 3:35 p.m. ET. NBC Sports Network is scheduled to re-air the race that evening at 6:30 p.m. ET.
