Sebastien Bourdais topped the speed chart in the third and final practice session for the 16th race of the 2018 IndyCar season, the Grand Prix of Portland.
Dale Coyne Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais is set to head into qualifying for the penultimate race of the 17-race 2018 IndyCar season, the Grand Prix of Portland having topped the speed chart in two of the three practice sessions for the race.
Bourdais topped the speed chart in the third and final practice session for the 105-lap race around the 12-turn, 1.967-mile (3.166-kilometer) Portland International Raceway road course in Portland, Oregon by recording a top lap time of 57.4707 seconds (123.214 miles per hour) in his #18 Honda.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal finished the practice session in second place in his #15 Honda. Team Penske’s Will Power was the highest finishing Chevrolet driver of the session. He finished in third in his #12 Chevrolet.

Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi and Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Takuma Sato rounded out the top five in the practice session in fourth and fifth place in their #27 Honda and #30 Honda, respectively. Ed Carpenter Racing’s Spencer Pigot was the highest finishing non-Team Penske Chevrolet driver of the practice session. He finished in sixth place in his #21 Chevrolet.
Andretti Autosport teammates Ryan Hunter-Reay, Marco Andretti (Andretti Herta Autosport) and Zach Veach finished the practice session in seventh, eighth and 10th place in their #28 Honda, #98 Honda and #26 Honda, respectively. Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden was the other driver who finished in the top 10. He finished in ninth in his #1 Chevrolet.
Qualifications for the race are scheduled to begin at 6:20 p.m. ET this evening, and they are set to be broadcast live on IndyCar RaceControl, the IndyCar mobile app, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. They are set to re-air at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Network.
The race itself is scheduled to begin tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m. ET. NBC Sports Network is set to broadcast it live starting at 2:30 p.m. ET.
