Conclusion

The most notable movement in the formulated Formula 1 Driver Power Rankings was the fact that Max Verstappen moved up into the fourth position and Kimi Raikkonen fell into the fifth position.

This happened largely due to the fact that Verstappen’s third place finish in the Japanese Grand Prix replaced his 19th place finish in the Hungarian Grand Prix in the calculation for his average finish in the last five races, which decreased his average finish in the last five races by 3.2 (from 6.8 to 3.6).

Meanwhile, Raikkonen’s fifth place finish in the Japanese Grand Prix replaced his third place finish in the Hungarian Grand Prix in the calculation for his average finish in the last five races, which increased his average finish in the last five races by 0.4 (from 6.2 to 6.6).

With Raikkonen’s 17th place finish in the Belgian Grand Prix set to no longer count in the calculation for his average finish in the last five races following the next race, the United States Grand Prix, and Verstappen having finished that race in third and therefore being set to lose this third place finish in this calculation, the two drivers are expected to switch their positions once again.

Valtteri Bottas is also projected to jump Sebastian Vettel for the second position in the next set of formulated rankings, as his fourth place finish in the Belgian Grand Prix is set to no longer count in the calculation for his average finish in the last five races following the United States Grand Prix. Meanwhile, Vettel won the Belgian Grand Prix, so he will lose this victory in this calculation.

The 18th race on the Formula 1 schedule is the United States Grand Prix, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, October 21. It is set to be broadcast live on ABC from Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas beginning at 2:10 p.m. ET, so be sure not to miss it.
