Max Verstappen earned his second victory of the 2018 Formula 1 season by dominating its 19th race, the Mexican Grand Prix.

Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen did what he did in last year’s Mexican Grand Prix once again this year en route to earning his second victory of the season and the fifth victory of his Formula 1 career.

Verstappen, like he did last season, started the Mexican Grand Prix, the 19th race of the 21-race 2018 season, from second place. Like he did last season, he took the lead in the first corner and went on to win it.

The 21-year-old Dutchman dominated the 71-lap race around the 17-turn, 2.674-mile (4.304-kilometer) Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, Mexico, and he ended up winning it by 17.316 seconds over Scuderia Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel in second place.

Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen rounded out the podium positions by finishing in third place. Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport’s teammates Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas rounded out the top five by finishing in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Once again, Renault Sport’s Nico Hulkenberg was the “best of the rest”, as he finished in sixth place. Alfa Romeo Sauber rookie Charles Leclerc, McLaren’s Stoffel Vandoorne, Sauber’s Marcus Ericsson and Scuderia Toro Rosso rookie Pierre Gasly rounded out the top 10 by finishing in seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th, respectively.

The race featured a total of three lead changes among three drivers, although only two of those drivers led any laps. Verstappen, who led all 71 of the race’s laps last season, led 67 laps of today’s race, as Vettel, who led the other four laps, came into the pits for his first pit stop four laps later than Verstappen did.

Red Bull Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo, who started the race from the pole position, ended up never leading it, as he had a poor start that relegated him to third place early on. While he worked his way back up to second, a mechanical issue on lap 62 forced him to retire. Of the 20 drivers who started the race, all but four finished it. Only four finished it on the lead lap.
