NASCAR Cup Series: 20 drivers eligible for 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash

A total of 20 drivers are eligible to compete in the Advance Auto Parts Clash at Daytona International Speedway before the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season gets underway.
To be eligible to compete in the preseason NASCAR Cup Series exhibition race, the Advance Auto Parts Clash, at Daytona International Speedway, a driver must fit into one or more of four categories.
The driver must either have (a) won at least one Busch Pole Award in the previous Cup Series season, (b) won at least one prior Daytona 500 AND competed full-time in the previous Cup Series season, (c) taken at least one pole position for a prior Daytona 500 AND competed full-time in the previous Cup Series season or (d) advanced to the playoffs in the previous Cup Series season.
A total of 20 drivers fit into at least one of these categories and are therefore eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash at the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Daytona International Speedway oval in Daytona Beach, Florida on Sunday, February 10, 2019 following qualifying for the 2019 season opener, the Daytona 500.
Here is an alphabetical list of the 20 drivers who are eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash and why they are eligible to do so.
Aric Almirola
Aric Almirola is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Ryan Blaney is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won three Busch Pole Awards in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season as well as the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 season.
Alex Bowman
Alex Bowman is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won one Busch Pole Award in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season as well as the fact that the Busch Pole Award that he won in the 2018 season he won for the Daytona 500 and the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 season.
Clint Bowyer
Clint Bowyer is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season.
Kurt Busch
Kurt Busch is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won five Busch Pole Awards in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season as well as the fact that he won the 2017 Daytona 500 and the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 season.
Kyle Busch
Kyle Busch is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won four Busch Pole Awards in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season as well as the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 season.
Austin Dillon
Austin Dillon is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he took the pole position for the 2014 Daytona 500 as well as the fact that he won the 2018 Daytona 500 and the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season.
Chase Elliott
Chase Elliott is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won one Busch Pole Award in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season as well as the fact that he took the pole positions for the 2016 Daytona 500 and the 2017 Daytona 500 and the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 season.
Denny Hamlin
Denny Hamlin is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won four Busch Pole Awards in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season as well as the fact that he won the 2016 Daytona 500 and the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 season.
Kevin Harvick
Kevin Harvick is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won four Busch Pole Awards in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season as well as the fact that he won the 2007 Daytona 500 and the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 season.
Jimmie Johnson
Jimmie Johnson is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he took the pole positions for the 2002 Daytona 500 and the 2008 Daytona 500 as well as the fact that he won the 2006 Daytona 500 and the 2013 Daytona 500 and the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season.
Erik Jones
Erik Jones is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won one Busch Pole Award in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season as well as the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 season.
Brad Keselowski
Brad Keselowski is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season.
Kyle Larson
Kyle Larson is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won three Busch Pole Awards in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season as well as the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 season.
Joey Logano
Joey Logano is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won one Busch Pole Award in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season as well as the fact that he won the 2015 Daytona 500 and the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 season.
Jamie McMurray
Jamie McMurray is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won the 2010 Daytona 500.
Paul Menard
Paul Menard is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won one Busch Pole Award in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season.
Ryan Newman
Ryan Newman is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won the 2008 Daytona 500.
Daniel Suarez
Daniel Suarez is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won one Busch Pole Award in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season
Martin Truex Jr.
Martin Truex is eligible to compete in the 2019 Advance Auto Parts Clash as a result of the fact that he won four Busch Pole Awards in the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season as well as the fact that he took the pole position for the 2009 Daytona 500 and the fact that he qualified for the playoffs in the 2018 season.
On a side note…
Of these 20 drivers, only 18 have confirmed rides for the 2019 Daytona 500. These 18 drivers all have full-time rides lined up for the 2019 season. However, neither Jamie McMurray nor Daniel Suarez have either.
