Richard Childress Racing have formed another technical alliance, this one with StarCom Racing, ahead of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Richard Childress Racing, which formed a technical alliance with Richard Petty Motorsports ahead of the 2018 NASCAR Cup Series season, have formed another technical alliance ahead of the 2019 season.

The team have now formed a technical alliance with StarCom Racing, giving them technical alliances with three different teams. In addition to Richard Petty Motorsports and StarCom Racing, they also have a technical alliance with Germain Racing. They have had this technical alliance since the 2014 season.

Richard Childress Racing’s technical alliance with Leavine Family Racing, which began in the 2016 season, came to an end after the end of the 2018 season, as Leavine Family Racing switched their manufacturer from Chevrolet to Toyota and formed a technical alliance with Joe Gibbs Racing.

The ECR engine program is set to supply the horsepower for StarCom Racing, which have announced that they are set to move to a new, 20,000-square-foot race shop in Salisbury, North Carolina.

StarCom Racing also purchased a charter from Richard Childress Racing to guarantee themselves a starting spot in each of the 36 races on the 2019 schedule.

This charter, which StarCom Racing leased this past season, was previously used by Richard Childress Racing to field the #27 Chevrolet, which did not compete this past season after Paul Menard, who drove the #27 Chevrolet in the 2017 season, left the team to replace Ryan Blaney behind the wheel of the #21 Wood Brothers Racing Ford in the 2018 season. Blaney left Wood Brothers Racing after the 2017 season to drive the #12 Team Penske Ford in the 2018 season.

Landon Cassill, who drove in 29 races for StarCom Racing this past season, is set to be StarCom Racing’s full-time driver in the 2019 season. He is set to drive the #00 Chevrolet.

Ty Dillon and Darrell Wallace Jr. are both set to continue to drive their Richard Childress Racing-affiliated entries full-time in the 2019 season, as Dillon is set to continue to drive the #13 Germain Racing Chevrolet while Wallace Jr. is set to continue to drive the #43 Richard Petty Motorsports Chevrolet.

Austin Dillon is set to continue to drive the #3 Chevrolet while Daniel Hemric is set to drive the #8 Chevrolet as the replacement for Ryan Newman, who drove the #31 Chevrolet this past season but it set to drive the #6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford as the replacement for Trevor Bayne and Matt Kenseth next year.
