Four-time IndyCar champion Mario Andretti is set to advance to the championship of the IndyCar “GOAT” poll against A.J. Foyt.
Mario Andretti became the second of two IndyCar drivers who will advance to the fourth and final round, the championship round, of the IndyCar “GOAT” poll. In this poll, fans can vote for who they believe is the sport’s greatest driver of all-time.
Andretti entered the 16-driver bracket as the #3 seed. He earned the #3 seed as a result of the fact that seeding was determined by a mathematical formula involving two variables: championships and race victories. Championship count as 10 points each and race victories count as one point each.
Andretti earned 52 victories and four championships throughout his IndyCar career to earn a total of 92 points using this formula.
