Formula E: 4 teams within 2 points at the top of the standings

Through the first six races of the 2018-2019 Formula E season, a total of four teams are within two points of each other at the top of the standings.
With six races in the books and seven races remaining on the 13-race 2018-2019 Formula E schedule, the battle at the top of the team standings could not possibly be any closer than it is.
Following the sixth race of the season, the Sanya ePrix, at Sanya Street Circuit, the top four of the sport’s 11 teams in the team standings are within two points of each other. These four teams have all earned one victory so far this season.
Mahindra Racing and Envision Virgin Racing are tied for the lead of the team standings with 97 points each, as Mahindra Racing teammates Jerome d’Ambrosio and Pascal Wehrlein have scored 61 points and 36 points, respectively, so far this season while Envision Virgin Racing teammates Sam Bird and Robin Frijns have scored 54 points and 43 points, respectively, through the season’s first six races.

Meanwhile, defending champions Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler sit in third place in the team standings just one point behind Mahindra Racing and Envision Virgin Racing, as their drivers, Lucas di Grassi and Daniel Abt, have combined to score 96 points so far this season. They have scored 52 points and 44 points, respectively.
Finally, sitting only one point behind Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler and only two points behind Mahindra Racing and Envision Virgin Racing are DS Techeetah with 95 points. Their two drivers, Jean-Eric Vergne and Andre Lotterer, have scored 54 points and 41 points, respectively, so far this season.
D’Ambrosio is responsible for earning Mahindra Racing’s lone victory so far this season, as he won the season’s second race, the Marrakesh ePrix, while Bird is responsible for earning Envision Virgin Racing’s lone victory, as he won the season’s third race, the Santiago ePrix.
Di Grassi is responsible for earning Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler’s lone victory so far this season, as he won the season’s fourth race, the Mexico City ePrix, while Vergne is responsible for earning DS Techeetah’s lone victory, as he won the season’s sixth race, the Sanya ePrix.
The two teams that are closest to the top four teams in the team standings are the other two teams that have earned one victory so far this season, as six different driver representing six different teams have been victorious through the season’s first six races.
BMW i Andretti Motorsport currently sit in fifth place in the team standings with 80 points, trailing co-leaders Mahindra Racing and Envision Virgin Racing by 17 points, while Venturi currently sit in sixth in the standings with 67 points, trailing these co-leaders by 30 points.
Antonio Felix da Costa, who is the leader of the driver standings with 62 points, is responsible for earning BMW i Andretti Motorsport’s lone victory so far this season, as he won the season opener, the Ad Diriyah ePrix. The team’s other driver, Alexander Sims, has scored 18 points through the season’s first six races.
Meanwhile, Edoardo Mortara is responsible for earning Venturi’s lone victory so far this season, as he won the season’s fifth race, the Hong Kong ePrix. He and teammate Felipe Massa have earned 52 points and 15 points, respectively, so far this season.
With so many teams, especially the top four, within striking distance of the lead of the team standings with six of the 13 races on the 2018-2019 Formula E schedule in the books, which team will ultimately emerge as this season’s team champions?
The Rome ePrix is the next race on this season’s schedule, so be sure not to miss it. Circuito Cittadino dell’EUR in Rome, Italy is scheduled to host this race, which is the seventh race of the season, on Saturday, April 13.
