Following the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park, how do the the 10 full-time IndyCar teams stack up against one another?

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing became the third different team to win a race through the first three races of the 17-race 2019 IndyCar season, as Takuma Sato earned his first victory of the season by dominating the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park.

By winning this 90-lap race around the 17-turn, 2.38-mile (3.830-kilometer) Barber Motorsports Park natural terrain road course in Birmingham, Alabama, Sato allowed Rahal Letterman Lanigan to join Team Penske and Harding Steinbrenner Racing on the list of teams that have gotten to victory lane this season.

Team Penske earned their first victory of the season in the season opener on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, as Josef Newgarden won that race.

Meanwhile, Harding Steinbrenner Racing earned not only their first victory of the season but their first victory of all time in the season’s second race at Circuit of the Americas, as rookie Colton Herta won that race, making him the youngest race winner in IndyCar history.

The 2019 season is the third consecutive season that has featured three different teams winning one of the season’s first three races. Dale Coyne Racing, Schmidt Peterson Motorsports and Team Penske opened up the 2017 season with one victory each in the first three races while Dale Coyne Racing, Team Penske and Andretti Autosport opened up the 2018 season with one victory each in the first three races.

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing have now won at least one race in each of the last five seasons. Last season, Sato was responsible for earning their lone victory, as he won the season’s penultimate rate at Portland International Raceway.
