IndyCar: Scott Dixon tops second 2019 Long Beach practice session

Scott Dixon topped the speed chart in the second practice session for the 2019 IndyCar season’s fourth race, the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon topped the speed chart in the second of three practice sessions for the fourth race of the 2019 IndyCar season, the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, on the streets of Long Beach, California.
Dixon topped the speed chart in this practice session by recording a top lap time of 67.7940 seconds (104.505 miles per hour) around the 11-turn, 1.968-mile (3.167-kilometer) temporary street circuit on the streets of Long Beach, California in his #9 Honda.
Dixon led a top three sweep by Honda drivers in this practice session, as Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter-Reay, who topped the speed chart in the first session, finished in second place in his #28 Honda and Chip Ganassi Racing rookie Felix Rosenqvist finished in third in his #10 Honda.

Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden and Carlin rookie Patricio O’Ward were the highest finishing Chevrolet drivers in this practice session. They finished in fourth and fifth place in their #2 Chevrolet and #31 Chevrolet, respectively.
Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal, Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud, Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports’ James Hinchcliffe and Andretti Herta Autosport’s Marco Andretti rounded out the top 10 by finishing in sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place in their #27 Honda, #15 Honda, #22 Chevrolet, #5 Honda and #98 Honda, respectively.
The third and final practice session for this race is scheduled to begin at 12:00 p.m. ET tomorrow afternoon, and it is set to be broadcast live on NBC Sports Gold. NBC Sports Gold is also set to air the live broadcast of the final warmup session on Sunday, April 14 beginning at 12:00 p.m. ET.
Qualifying for this race is scheduled to begin tomorrow afternoon at 3:10 p.m. ET, and it is set to be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network. NBC Sports Network is also set to air the live broadcast of the race itself on Sunday beginning at 4:00 p.m. ET.
