Lewis Hamilton dominated the third race of the 2019 Formula 1 season, the Chinese Grand Prix, at Shanghai International Circuit.

Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport’s Lewis Hamilton earned his second victory of the 21-race 2019 Formula 1 season and his second consecutive victory in the season’s third race, the Chinese Grand Prix, at Shanghai International Circuit.

Hamilton started the 56-lap race around the 16-turn, 3.388-mile (5.452-kilometer) Shanghai International Circuit road course in Jiading, Shanghai, China in second place, and he won it by 6.552 seconds over teammate Valtteri Bottas, who started from the pole position, in second.

Scuderia Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel finished the race in third place after team orders early in the race were controversially used  in his favor over teammate Charles Leclerc, who finished in fifth in what was yet another disaster of a race for the Italian team. Aston Martin Red Bull Racing’s Max Verstappen finished between the two Ferrari teammates in fourth.

Red Bull Racing’s Pierre Gasly finished in sixth place, and on the race’s final lap, he recorded the fastest lap of the race to score one bonus point. Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo was the “best of the rest”, as he finished in seventh.

SportPesa Racing Point’s Sergio Perez, Alfa Romeo Racing’s Kimi Raikkonen and Scuderia Toro Rosso rookie Alexander Albon rounded out the top 10 by finishing in eighth, ninth and 10th place, respectively. Of the 20 drivers who started the race, 17 finished it and six finished on the lead lap.
