IndyCar: 28 drivers to test at Indianapolis Motor Speedway next Wednesday

A total of 28 IndyCar drivers are set to test at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Wednesday, April 24 leading up to the Indianapolis 500 next month.
On Wednesday, April 24, which is roughly four and a half weeks before the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 is scheduled to take place, Indianapolis Motor Speedway is set to host three test sessions, including one for the veteran IndyCar drivers, one for the rookies and other non-series regulars and one for all drivers.
The first test session is for the IndyCar veterans, and it is scheduled to take place from 11:00 a.m. ET to 1:00 p.m. ET.
The second test session is set to feature the Rookie Orientation Program and the refresher tests for the non-series regulars, and it is scheduled to take place from 1:00 p.m. ET to 3:00 p.m. ET.

Finally, the third test session is for all drivers, and it is scheduled to take place from 3:00 p.m. ET to 6:00 p.m. ET.
A total of 33 drivers have been confirmed for this year’s running of the 200-lap “Greatest Spectacle in Racing” around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana, and 28 have been confirmed for next Wednesday’s test.

Here is a list of the five drivers who have been confirmed for this year’s Indy 500 but are not set to participate in any one of these three test sessions next Wednesday.

Several additional entries for this year’s Indy 500 are still expected in the coming weeks. In fact, not only several additional cars but several additional driver deals for those cars have reportedly been solidified for this race, just not publicly confirmed by the teams nor the drivers themselves.
These test sessions at Indianapolis Motor Speedway are all set to be livestreamed on IndyCar RaceControl next Wednesday, April 24. The 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 itself is set to be broadcast live on NBC from the track beginning at 11:00 a.m. ET on Sunday, May 26.
