Oliver Rowland is set to start the eighth race of the 2018-2019 Formula E season, the Paris ePrix, from the pole position after Pascal Wehrlein was penalized.

Mahindra Racing’s Pascal Wehrlein originally became the first drive to take two pole positions for the 13-race 2018-2019 Formula E season, as he took the pole position for the season’s eighth race, the Paris ePrix, after taking the pole position for the season’s fourth race, the Mexico City ePrix, in his #94 Spark-Mahindra.

However, Nissan e.dams’ Oliver Rowland is now set to start the race from the pole position in his #22 Spark-Nissan, as Wehrlein was sent to the back of the starting grid due to a tire pressure technical infringement.

Mahindra Racing’s Jerome d’Ambrosio, who originally qualified for the race in sixth place in his #64 Spark-Mahindra, was also penalized and sent to the back of the starting grid for the same reason.

That said, the trend of different drivers taking pole position for each race on the schedule still ended, as Rowland became the first driver to take two pole positions this season as opposed to Wehrlein. Rowland also took the pole position for the season’s sixth race, the Sanya ePrix.

Rowland officially took the pole position for the 45-lap race around the 14-turn, 1.20-mile (1.931-kilometer) Circuit des Invalides temporary street circuit in Paris, France by recording a top lap time of 60.535 seconds (71.364 miles per hour) in the Super Pole qualifying session for the race.

Wehrlein originally recorded a top lap time of 60.383 seconds (71.543 miles per hour) in the Super Pole qualifying session for the race. Nissan e.dams’ Sebastien Buemi is now set to start the race on the front row alongside his teammate in second place in his #23 Spark-Nissan.
