By Asher Fair
How did Team Penske’s second victory of the 2019 IndyCar season in the IndyCar Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course affect the IndyCar Team Power Rankings?
Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud earned his first victory of the 2019 IndyCar season by winning the 17-race season’s fifth race, the IndyCar Grand Prix, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and he ended a 21-race win drought dating back to the 2017 season in doing so.
Additionally, Pagenaud’s victory in this 85-lap race around the 13-turn, 2.439-mile (3.925-kilometer) Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course in Speedway, Indiana made Team Penske the first team to win multiple races this season.
Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden opened up the season by winning the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida.
