After rain shook things up today, the original practice schedule for the 103rd running of the Indy 500 is set to resume tomorrow.

The original practice schedule for the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 is scheduled to resume tomorrow afternoon after rain shook up today’s schedule and affected multiple practice and qualifying sessions for the crown jewel on the IndyCar schedule.

Tomorrow’s practice session is scheduled to take place from 12:00 p.m. ET to 2:00 p.m. ET, just like it has been. This session was scheduled to be the eighth practice session for this year’s running of the “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”, but it will be the seventh if it takes place as planned.

Earlier today, rain forced the Fast Nine portion of the sixth practice session to be canceled. Additionally, it caused both the Last Row Bump Day qualifying session and the Fast Nine Shootout Pole Day qualifying session for next Sunday’s 200-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana to be pushed back.

The Fast Nine portion of the sixth practice session was originally scheduled to take place from 10:45 a.m. ET to 11:15 a.m. ET following the Last Row portion of this practice session from 10:15 a.m. ET to 10:45 a.m. ET. But the Last Row portion of this practice session ended up ending at around 10:35 a.m. ET due to rain, which did not let up for several hours.

The Last Row Bump Day qualifying session was originally scheduled to take place from 12:15 p.m. ET to 1:15 p.m. ET and the Fast Nine Shootout Pole Day qualifying session was originally scheduled to take place from 1:15 p.m. ET to 2:15 p.m. ET. These qualifying sessions were set to be broadcast live on NBC from 12:00 p.m. ET to 3:00 p.m. ET.

However, the Last Row Bump Day qualifying session ended up beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET, and the Fast Nine Shootout Pole Day qualifying session ended up taking place right after that session ended. It lasted until right up until 6:00 p.m. ET.

With 6:00 p.m. ET being the latest time for track activity, this forced the seventh scheduled practice session for the race to be canceled. This practice session was originally scheduled to take place from 3:15 p.m. ET to 6:00 p.m. ET. It was set to be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network, so NBC Sports Network ended up broadcasting the qualifying sessions for the race instead.

NBC Sports Network is set to broadcast tomorrow’s practice session live from Indianapolis Motor Speedway from 12:00 p.m. ET to 2:00 p.m. ET. This practice session is the last scheduled practice session before the final scheduled practice session, the Carb Day practice session, for the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 on Friday, May 24.
