By Asher Fair
How do the IndyCar Team Power Rankings look following the action from the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway?
Team Penske’s Simon Pagenaud earned his second consecutive victory and his second overall victory of the 17-race 2019 IndyCar season by winning the season’s sixth and crown jewel race, the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500, at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Pagenaud’s victory in the 200-lap race around the four-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval in Speedway, Indiana was Team Penske’s third victory of the season, as Pagenaud and Josef Newgarden had each earned one victory so far this season entering this race.
Team Penske have now earned three times as many victories as each of the other three teams that have been victorious at any point through the season’s first six races. All three of these teams, Harding Steinbrenner Racing, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing and Andretti Autosport, are Honda-powered teams.
