IndyCar: Scott Dixon tops no-tow speed chart in second 2019 Texas practice

Scott Dixon topped the no-tow speed chart in the second and final practice session for the 2019 IndyCar season’s ninth race, the DXC Technology 600, at Texas Motor Speedway.

Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon topped the no-tow speed chart in the second and final practice session for the ninth race on the 17-race 2019 IndyCar schedule, the DXC Technology 600, at Texas Motor Speedway.

Dixon recorded a top lap time of 23.6182 seconds (219.492 miles per hour) around the four-turn, 1.44-mile (2.317-kilometer) high-banked Texas Motor Speedway oval in Fort Worth, Texas without a tow in his #9 Honda.

Dixon led a top eight sweep by Honda drivers, including three Andretti Autosport drivers, two Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports drivers and two Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing drivers on the no-tow speed chart in this practice session.

Andretti Autosport teammates Alexander Rossi, Ryan Hunter-Reay and Zach Veach finished in second, third and fifth place in their #27 Honda, #28 Honda and #26 Honda, respectively.

Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports teammates James Hinchcliffe and Marcus Ericsson, a rookie, finished in fourth and seventh place in their #5 Honda and #7 Honda, respectively, while Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing teammates Graham Rahal and Takuma Sato finished in sixth and eighth in their #15 Honda and #30 Honda, respectively.

Team Penske’s Will Power was the highest finishing Chevrolet driver on the no-tow speed chart in this practice session. He finished in ninth place in his #12 Chevrolet ahead of three other Chevrolet drivers from 10th through 12th.

Ed Carpenter Racing teammates Ed Carpenter and Spencer Pigot finished in 10th and 12th place in their #20 Chevrolet and #21 Chevrolet, respectively, and were split up by A.J. Foyt Enterprises’ Tony Kanaan in 11th in his #14 Chevrolet.
