Gateway 200 preview
Next up for the NASCAR Truck Series is this Saturday night’s race at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway, formerly known as Gateway Motorsports Park. The Truck Series has been competing annually at the track since the 2014 season, and there have been a total of 18 Truck Series races there.
The Gateway 200 is set to consist of 160 laps around the 1.25-mile (2.012-kilometer) oval in Madison, Illinois. The first stage is set to end at lap 35 while the second stage is set to end at lap 70.

Prior to the Gateway 200, the ARCA Menards Series is also scheduled to race at the track on the same day. Last season, current full-time Truck Series driver Sheldon Creed won this race. Current full-time Truck Series drivers Harrison Burton and Gus Dean also competed in that race.
Creed will likely be the only former winner at the track in any series entered in Saturday night’s Gateway 200. Last season in the Truck Series race there, Justin Haley notched the first victory of his career victory. In that race, Grant Enfinger took the pole position and won stage one while Christian Eckes won stage two.
Eckes and his teammate Noah Gragson combined to lead 107 laps of this race, so will Burton and Todd Gilliland feel pressure to perform well there? Burton has never competed at the track in the Truck Series before, although he started and finished in third place in the ARCA race there last season. As for Gilliland, he finished in a career-high second in the Truck Series race at the track last season.
The Gateway 200 at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 22. It is scheduled to begin at 10:00 p.m. ET. Live TV coverage is set to be provided by Fox Sports 1.
