Colton Herta took the pole position for the REV Group Grand Prix at Road America, the 10th of 17 races on the 2019 IndyCar schedule.

Harding Steinbrenner Racing rookie Colton Herta took the first pole position of his IndyCar career in his 11th career IndyCar start for tomorrow’s race, the REV Group Grand Prix at Road America. This race is the 17-race 2019 season’s 10th race.

In doing so, the 19-year-old Valencia, California native became the youngest polesitter in IndyCar history.

Herta took the pole position for this 55-lap race around the 14-turn, 4.048-mile (6.515-kilometer) Road America natural terrain road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin by recording a top lap time of 102.9920 seconds (141.4945 miles per hour) in the Firestone Fast Six, the third and final round of qualifying for the race, in his #88 Honda.

Set to start alongside Herta on the front row in second place is Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi in his #27 Honda, giving Honda a front row sweep of the starting grid.

Team Penske teammates Will Power and Josef Newgarden were the highest qualifying Chevrolet drivers for this race. They are set to share the second row after qualifying in third and fourth place in their #12 Chevrolet and #2 Chevrolet, respectively. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing teammates Graham Rahal and Takuma Sato were the slowest of the two drivers who advanced to the Firestone Fast Six, and they are set to share the third row on the starting grid after qualifying in fifth and sixth in their #15 Honda and #30 Honda, respectively.

Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan’s Sebastien Bourdais, Ed Carpenter Racing’s Spencer Pigot, Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports’ James Hinchcliffe and Andretti Herta Autosport’s Marco Andretti are set to round out the top 10 on the starting grid for this race after qualifying in seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place in their #18 Honda, #21 Chevrolet, #5 Honda and #98 Honda, respectively.

Ed Carpenter Racing Scuderia Corsa’s Ed Jones was the slowest driver who advanced to the second round of qualifying for this race, but he is set to start in 11th place in his #20 Chevrolet as opposed to 12th as a result of the fact that Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon, who advanced to this round, did not complete a lap during it as a result of engine issues. Dixon is set to start in 12th in his #9 Honda.
