IndyCar: 2019 Honda Indy Toronto entry list
By Asher Fair
A total of 22 drivers are set to compete in the Honda Indy Toronto at Exhibition Place, tying the lowest driver total for a race so far in the 2019 IndyCar season.
A total of 22 drivers competed in both IndyCar races at the Raceway on Belle Isle Park in early June, and the same number of drivers competed in the race at Texas Motor Speedway the following week.
Through the first 10 races of the season, 22 drivers is still the lowest driver total on an entry list, and that total is set to be tied for the lowest once again by the driver total on the entry for this Sunday afternoon’s race, the Honda Indy Toronto, on the streets of Exhibition Place.
Of the 22 drivers who are set to compete in this 85-lap race around the 11-turn, 1.786-mile (2.874-kilometer) temporary street circuit on the streets of Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, 19 are full-time drivers who have competed in each of the season’s first 10 races while three are part-time drivers.

All three of these part-time drivers have competed in at least one IndyCar race so far this season, with two of the three having competed in an overwhelming majority of the season so far.
Ed Carpenter Racing Scuderia Corsa’s Ed Jones is set to compete in this race, and the only race in which he has not competed so far this season is the race at Texas Motor Speedway. Jones is a road and street course race-only driver, but he did compete in the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Carlin’s Max Chilton is set to compete in this race as well, and he also missed the race at Texas Motor Speedway. Chilton, like Jones, is a road and street course race-only driver, but he started the season as a full-time driver. He would have competed in the Indy 500 had he not failed to qualify for it.
Then there is Carlin’s Sage Karam, who has only competed in the Indy 500 this season and has not competed in a non-Indy 500 IndyCar race since the race at Pocono Raceway in August of 2015. While Jones and Chilton have scheduled races beyond this Sunday afternoon’s race, Karam does not and is looking to take advantage of a great opportunity.
Here is a list of the 22 drivers who are set to compete in the 2019 Honda Indy Toronto at Exhibition Place.
