IndyCar: 2019 ABC Supply 500 entry list
By Asher Fair
Three part-time drivers are set to join the 19 full-time drivers in the 2019 IndyCar season’s 14th race and fourth oval race, the ABC Supply 500, at Pocono Raceway.
The 14th race of the 17-race 2019 IndyCar schedule and the fourth of five oval races on the schedule is the ABC Supply 500 at Pocono Raceway, and this race is scheduled to take place this Sunday, August 18.
A total of 22 drivers are set to compete in this Sunday afternoon’s 200-lap race around the three-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Pocono Raceway oval in Long Pond, Pennsylvania.
This race is the sixth race of the season so far to feature a season-low total of 22 drivers on the entry list, and it is the sixth race in the last eight races to do so as well. Most notably, the two oval races at Texas Motor Speedway and Iowa Speedway also featured 22 drivers.
The season’s other oval race, the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500, at Indianapolis Motor Speedway featured its traditional season-high total of 33 drivers after 36 drivers were on the entry list and three were bumped from the race.
Of the 22 drivers who are set to compete in this Sunday afternoon’s, 19 are full-time drivers who have competed in each of the season’s first 13 races while three are part-time drivers.

Of the three part-time drivers, two entered the season as part-time drivers. One of these drivers, Ed Carpenter Racing team owner Ed Carpenter, has competed in each of the season’s first three oval races as his team’s oval specialist. He is set to drive the #20 Chevrolet in the ABC Supply 500.
Meanwhile, Charlie Kimball is set to make the fourth of his scheduled five starts of the 2019 season in this race as well, although this is set to be his third and final oval race start of the season. In addition to driving the #23 Chevrolet for Carlin in the Indy 500 and in the race at Texas Motor Speedway, he drove it in the season opener on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida and is scheduled to do so in the season finale at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca as well.
Finally, Conor Daly is set to make his fourth start and, like Carpenter, his fourth oval start of the season in this Sunday afternoon’s race. Daly entered the 2019 season slated only to compete in the Indy 500 driving the #25 Honda for Andretti Autosport, but he has since signed with Carlin to compete in each of the season’s other four oval races. He is set to drive for Andretti Autosport in the season finale as well.
