Colton Herta topped the speed chart in the third and final practice session at Portland International Raceway for the Grand Prix of Portland, the penultimate race on the 2019 IndyCar schedule.

Harding Steinbrenner Racing rookie Colton Herta topped the speed chart in the third and final practice session for the Grand Prix of Portland at Portland International Raceway, the 16th of 17 races on the 2019 IndyCar schedule. He also topped the speed chart in the opening practice session for this race.

Herta topped the speed chart in this third and final practice session for this 105-lap race around the 12-turn, 1.967-mile (3.166-kilometer) Portland International Raceway natural terrain road course in Portland, Oregon by recording a top lap time of 57.9939 seconds (122.1025 miles per hour) in his #88 Honda.

Team Penske teammates Josef Newgarden and Will Power were the fastest Chevrolet drivers in this practice session. They finished in second and third place in their #2 Chevrolet and #12 Chevrolet, respectively.

Beyond Newgarden and Power, however, Honda drivers dominated the top 10 like they have done all weekend long.

Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon finished in fourth place in his #9 Honda ahead of Andretti Autosport teammates Alexander Rossi and Ryan Hunter-Reay in fifth and sixth in their #27 Honda and #28 Honda, respectively.

Meyer Shank Racing with Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports’ Jack Harvey, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal, Chip Ganassi Racing rookie Felix Rosenqvist and Dale Coyne Racing with Vasser-Sullivan’s Sebastien Bourdais rounded out the top 10 by finishing in seventh, eighth, ninth and 10th place in their #60 Honda, #15 Honda, #10 Honda and #18 Honda, respectively. Bourdais topped the speed chart in the second practice session for this race.

Carlin’s Max Chilton had a solid session and was the fastest non-Team Penske Chevrolet driver in 11th place in his #59 Chevrolet. Team Penske’s other driver, Simon Pagenaud, only finished in 17th in his #22 Chevrolet.

The practice session ended with the drivers and crew members lining up on pit lane and observing a moment of silence for Anthoine Hubert, who tragically lost his life at the young age of 22 earlier today in a crash during the Formula 2 race at Circuit Spa-Francorchamps ahead of tomorrow’s Belgian Grand Prix Formula 1 race.
