By Asher Fair
Alexander Rossi topped the warmup session for the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey, the 2019 IndyCar season finale, at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Andretti Autosport’s Alexander Rossi topped the pit stop practice/warmup session, which isn’t technically considered one of the three practice sessions, for the 2019 IndyCar season finale at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey.
Rossi, one of the four championship contenders, topped the speed chart in this warmup session for this 90-lap race by recording a top lap time of 70.0988 seconds (114.9349 miles per hour) around the 11-turn, 2.238-mile (3.602-kilometer) WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca natural terrain road course in Monterey, California in his #27 Honda.
Rossi led a top five Honda sweep, which included three Andretti Autosport cars, four if you count the #88 Harding Steinbrenner Racing Honda of pseudo teammate Colton Herta as a part of the Andretti Autosport team.
