Following the Bank of America Roval 400 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway roval, the round of 12 field of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs is set.

The three-race round of 16 of the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series playoffs is in the books, and 12 of the 16 drivers who competed in it are slated to move on to the round of 12, which also consists of three races and is the second round of the four-round, 10-race playoffs.

Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott closed out the round of 16 by securing his sixth career Cup Series victory and his third victory of the season at the Charlotte Motor Speedway roval, as he took the checkered flag to win the Bank of America Roval 400.

How did the 12 drivers who are slated to advance to the round of 12 put themselves in position to do so throughout the three-race round of 16, which included races at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Richmond Raceway and the Charlotte Motor Speedway roval, and which four drivers were eliminated from playoff contention?
