2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs: Round of 8 field set

Following the Use Your Melon Drive Sober 200 at Dover International Speedway, the round of 8 field of the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs is set.

The three-race round of 12 of the 2019 NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs is in the books, and four of the 12 drivers who competed in it have been eliminated from championship contention. The other eight are slated to move on to the second round of the three-round, seven-race playoffs, the round of 12.

Stewart-Haas Racing’s Cole Custer closed out the round of 12 by securing his series-high seventh victory of the season (tied with Joe Gibbs Racing’s Christopher Bell) at Dover International Speedway, as he took the checkered flag to win the Use Your Melon Drive Sober 200.

How did the eight drivers who are slated to advance to the round of 8 put themselves in position to do so throughout the round of 12, which included races at Richmond Raceway, the Charlotte Motor Speedway roval and Dover International Speedway?
