A total of 40 drivers are set to compete in the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series Championship 4 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the Ford EcoBoost 400.

NASCAR championship weekend will be upon us in just a few days, and the Cup Series Championship 4 season finale, the Ford EcoBoost 400, is scheduled to cap off the weekend’s festivities at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday, November 17.

A total of 40 drivers are set to compete in this Sunday afternoon’s 267-lap season finale around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Homestead-Miami Speedway oval in Homestead, Florida, although only four, Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch and Stewart-Haas Racing’s Kevin Harvick, are eligible to win the championship in it.

Of these 40 drivers, 32 are full-time drivers, and 31 of these 32 full-time drivers have competed in each of the season’s first 35 drivers. The one exception is Premium Motorsports’ Ross Chastain, who did not compete in the race at Michigan International Speedway just over five months ago in June.

However, Chastain is not set to drive for a chartered team in this Sunday afternoon’s race, as he is set to drive the #27 Chevrolet as opposed to the #15 Chevrolet that he usually drives. Joe Nemechek is set to driver the chartered #15 Chevrolet in this race.

The only full-time driver who is not set to compete in this race is Front Row Motorsports rookie Matt Tifft, who was sidelined for the remainder of the season after suffering a seizure at Martinsville Speedway a few weeks ago.

John Hunter Nemechek, one of the seven part-time drivers who are set to compete in this race, has driven the #36 Ford as Tifft’s replacement in each of the last two races at Texas Motor Speedway and ISM Raceway after Matt Crafton replaced him in the race at Martinsville Speedway, and he is set to do so again this weekend.

Six other part-time drivers are set to compete in this Sunday afternoon’s Ford EcoBoost 400, and three are set to drive for chartered teams while three are not. The three who are set to do so are Petty Ware Racing’s J.J. Yeley, Rick Ware Racing’s Josh Bilicki, and Spire Motorsports’ Reed Sorenson while the three who are not set to do so are Rick Ware Racing’s B.J. McLeod, MBM Motorsports’ Timmy Hill and Gaunt Brothers Racing’s Drew Herring, who is set to make his Cup Series debut.
