NASCAR Cup Series: Full 2021 schedule set for release
By Asher Fair
The official 2021 NASCAR Cup Series schedule is set to be released this afternoon, following multiple individual race confirmations.
This morning and early afternoon have been littered with individual race and track confirmations for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season, so much so that the 36-race schedule for next year can pretty much be pieced together by anyone who happens to be saving all of the tweets and press releases.
In fact, multiple sources have already unveiled a full new-look 36-race slate for the highest level of stock car racing next year.
The 2021 season is modeled precisely after the 2020 season in terms of its start weekend and end weekend. It is scheduled to begin on Sunday, February 14 with the annual Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway and it is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, November 7 at Phoenix Raceway, with 34 races in between.

NASCAR is set to officially release the 2021 schedule at roughly 3:00 p.m. ET this afternoon, at which point the very few unconfirmed race dates will be solidified.
NASCAR has had quite a bit to worry about this year with the 2020 schedule ending up being as fluid as a was due to the 10-week hiatus caused by the coronavirus pandemic back from March to May, which is why the 2021 schedule has not been released yet.
To compare to this season, the original 2020 schedule was released late last March, at which point just six races had been contested in 2019. Just six races remain on the 36-race 2020 schedule.
The 2021 Xfinity Series and Truck Series schedules are slated to be released later in the year, likely with the usual 33 and 23 races, respectively.
