Formula 1: Germany results, standings – Lewis Hamilton ties Michael Schumacher

Lewis Hamilton tied Michael Schumacher for the lead of the all-time Formula 1 wins list with his Eifel Grand Prix victory at the Nürburgring.
Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton secured his seventh victory of the 2020 Formula 1 season in the season’s 11th race, the Eifel Grand Prix at the Nürburgring, and in doing so, he tied Michael Schumacher for the all-time Formula 1 wins record.
This victory is the 91st of Hamilton’s career. Schumacher secured the 91st and final victory of his career in the 2006 Chinese grand Prix at Shanghai International Circuit.
Hamilton won today’s 60-lap race around the 16-turn, 3.199-mile (5.148-kilometer) road course in Nürburg, Germany by 4.470 seconds over Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in second place after teammate Valtteri Bottas, who started from the pole position, was forced to retire with an engine issue.

Renault’s Daniel Ricciardo finished in third place, marking his first podium finish since he won the 2018 Monaco Grand Prix at Circuit de Monaco driving for Red Bull and Renault’s first podium finish since the 2011 Malaysian Grand Prix, when Nick Heidfeld finished in third at Sepang International Circuit.
Ricciardo shot up to fourth place in the driver standings as a result of his third place finish. Racing Point’s Sergio Perez finished in fourth to vault himself up to fifth in points. McLaren’s Carlos Sainz Jr. rounded out the top five in fifth.
AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly finished in sixth place ahead of Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc in seventh. Racing Point’s Nico Hulkenberg, who was filling in for the ill Lance Stroll, started in 20th (last) and finished in eighth.
Haas’ Romain Grosjean finished in ninth place, marking his first top 10 finish since he finished in seventh in the 2019 German Grand Prix at the Hockenheimring and Haas’ first top 10 finish since Kevin Magnussen finished in 10th in the Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring in mid-July.
Alfa Romeo’s Antonio Giovinazzi finished in 10th place, marking his first top 10 finish since he finished in ninth in the season-opening Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring. His teammate, Kimi Raikkonen, finished in 12th in his 323rd career start, which broke Rubens Barrichello’s all-time record of 322 starts.
